Today Charlotte & I visited Ursuline Prep where Charli will start school on 3 June. She will do 5 weeks in Grade 5 before the school year ends and she will start Grade 6 (gulp) in September this year.
We took a bus to the next Village to get the uniform, needless to say that was very exciting and Charlotte put her uniform on as soon as we walked in the door. The school seems really lovely and is quite small in terms of student numbers so there will be plenty of one on one teacher time if necessary. There is a very sweet little fenced off natural habitat in the school yard complete with tadpoles & frogs and just to complete the scene, a little squirrel foraging for food. (We still think they are cute ... this may wear off!).
Nic!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! Tell me, which school is Charlotte going to? We are trying to find a suitable school for Millie (who is in year 7 this year) and moving into year 8 seems to be a challenge. Would love to hear your thoughts :)

Hi Nicole
ReplyDeleteCharlotte is going to Wimbledon Ursuline Preparatory School in The Downs which is just off Ridgeway, about 10-15 min walk from Wimbledon Village. It is a private school and therefore has actually been much easier to deal with than schools in the state system. We are hoping to get Edward into Wimbledon College (a Jesuit school from Yr7-12) and Bella into Ursuline Girls High School (a convent school from Yr7-12). Neither of these 2 schools are private, nor are they selective. They are a 5 minute walk from where we live, which was all a part of a well orchestrated plan to avoid school/London traffic. Really happy to tell you what I have learnt so far. My skype is nic.macisaac and London is currently 9 hours behind Melbourne time. Look forward to hearing from you. Nic x
Love your uniform Charlotte, very smart indeed! Hope you make some new friends in your 5 week term, let us know how you go...xx Jus
ReplyDeleteGorgeous uniform Charlotte.....whoops you grew up and look like Bella now your hair is longer and darker. Sounds like loads of adventures ahead for everyone so soak up the ambience and enjoy!

Hi NIc,
ReplyDeletesorry to intrude on your family blog, but just found the old Mag Square email informing me about your move and I just had to have a peak...
I lived in London for 11 years-at your almost neighbouring suburbs of Putney. Absolutely loved it! We used to cycle to Wimbledon village quite often, it's stunning there! It is so nice seeing photos of London!! My husband and I spent all our young, child free life there and once you get used to the weather and cold, you will deeply fall in love with it!
Hope all goes well for you and your family! Have a fantastic time and make the most of all that UK and Europe offers, Australia is beautiful, but....mmmm....very different in many ways...
:-)

PS- Back to the squirrels...I have never learned to hate them! Quite the opposite...I still think they are super, super cute! :-)
